Cup Testing and Quality Control

We believe the true essence of coffee quality and character is only revealed through extensive cup testing and green coffee analysis.

Coffee, like other agricultural crops, can and does change from season to season, origin-to-origin and country region to region. Results can even be further specific lot to lot. We believe, only through devoted cup testing and analysis, can one determine the true attributes and virtues of the coffee itself. Once known, this knowledge lends itself well to an insight into the best direction for blending with other known coffees or showcasing the coffee exclusively as an origin straight.

Once quality control standards are understood, the basis is established for reference and comparison. We view each client as being unique in their requirements for both quality and value and customize our insight and services accordingly.

The actual “cupping of coffee” is one responsibility that distinguishes our trade from many others. Risk Management and Supply Management

At C.E. Colomb Co. LLC, we have a flexible pricing structure offering the option of pricing futures and/or outright pricing on a per pound basis. This price flexibility enables buyers to simplify their purchase process and have a confidence in projecting forward commitments and sales.

Our Supply Management services offer coffee from spot to a forward delivery basis and include these benefits so that you, our client, are fully catered and able to focus on production/operations:

• Pre-scheduled weekly/monthly or seasonal availability
• Assurance of availability for both current production and further market expansion
• Verified consistency and quality according to your production standards
• Spectrum of coffee selections according to both quality and price value considerations
• Logistics coordination for the timely delivery of purchases, that is in-line with your production schedules

Consulting

Cecafe’s consulting service offers solutions for enhancing your product understanding toward bottom-line profitability. We can provide you with workable solutions for:

• Buyer support programs
• Specialized source/origin country information
• Seller agent programs
• Cupping and Green Coffee Analysis - as it relates to quality control, contract compliance and market product placement
• Assistance in making coffee selections that can be as focused as select single-origins or comprehensive toward maintaining and/or creating a new blend

Logistics / Shipments

We believe that timely logistics perform an integral role to ensure smooth production flow. We are able to assist your company in facilitating transportation arrangements so you can concentrate on your production and client needs.

Once you’ve placed an order with us, we are able to coordinate the transport of your purchase to your required destination for further production. This can be done via transportation carrier of your selection or our network of designated carriers.

Any special shipping arrangements can be accommodated provided that timely notice and details are given to us prior to final confirmation of purchase as well as actual shipment.

Shipments, can unfortunately become damaged or experience a loss during transit. If you experience this situation it is absolutely necessary to note this on the bill of lading prior to “signing off” on it as “received” from the transportation company. Immediately contact C.E. Colomb, Co., LLC in the event of damage or loss so that we may assist you in the claims process, if necessary.
